‘Oh Well’ Out Now!
— You know those days that feel like the world is working against you and nothing is going right? Well, Simon O’Hagan’s latest track, ‘Oh Well’, with its warm psychedelic/funk guitar riffs and smooth, laid-back vocals will hold your hand as you endure it. Written and Recorded solo from his home studio in Sydney, Australia, in the midst of one of these horror days, ‘Oh Well’ showcases a refined sound from Simon in his first offering of 2024.
‘Feel Sorry’ (2022)
— We’ve all seen someone close to us go down a path we know isn’t right for them, and watch them drift away. Having never managed to finish a song before, one night, in a tent in his backyard, reflecting on an old friend, Simon O’Hagan put pen to paper and emerged from a trance with his debut single ‘Feel Sorry’. Written and performed entirely by Simon, every last word sung, and note played is with raw emotion stemming from a life lesson which cured a lifetime of writer’s block.
‘Sanctuary Gardens’ EP (2022)
— A diverse and eclectic musical upbringing has led to the melting pot of genres showcased in the 5-track project. Set to be released mid-December, Sanctuary Gardens EP chronicles Simon’s journey through a time where darkness surrounded us all. Relationships crumbled, and darkness loomed, but the one-man-band found comfort in the task of turning those circumstances to his musical advantage, writing lyrics we can all relate to paired with music that is sure to catch people’s attention, all from the comfort of a small bedroom in the suburbs of Sydney.
After the success of singer/multi-instrumentalist Simon O’Hagan’s 2022 debut EP ‘Sanctuary Gardens’, he spent the following year tucked away in his bedroom studio quietly refining his sound, preparing for what is sure to be an impressive 2024 for the Sydneysider. Kicking things off with R&B/Soul track ‘Oh Well’.
